What a weekend!
I have never been to anything like the Asheville Wine & Food Festival and it was INCREDIBLE! Nathan and I left on Friday and met his parents in Waynesville, NC (about 25 miles outside of Asheville) and stayed with some of their family friends in a GORGEOUS little mountain house. I mean you can’t beat the view….
So I don’t end up writing an entire novel on the weekend, I’ll basically just explain that the AW&FF was from 2-6 pm at the US Cellular Center on Saturday in Asheville. Besides attending the event, we spent time exploring the town of Waynesville, walking around Asheville, and shopping. As for the main event, basically there were hundreds of vendors, distilleries, breweries, vineyards, restaurants, and more that had tables with samples. (aka a couple hour long eating and getting drunk fest ðŸ™‚ ) The best foods I tried were a bite of gluten free pizza, sirarcha pimento cheese, THE BEST BLOODY MARY MIX I HAVE EVER HAD, and some damn good lobster bisque. I indulged in tasting a few good wines, some shots of mountain moonshine, and tried to just taste the foods that looked the best so I didn’t eat too much. It was such a
tipsy incredible afternoon!!
