Hello beautiful people!
I have unfortunately been sick this week and finally felt so rough I called in sick at work today. I went to the Doctor…now I have about 5 meds on deck (sinusitis and mild bronchitis…so funnnn) and am resting all night to get well! I am headed to Atlanta this weekend for Music Midtown Festival so I definitely have to get well for that.
As you all know it’s Wednesday so that means my post is simple:
WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY 🙂
- I woke up early to attempt to go to work, but felt AWFUL so I ate some Greek nonfat vanilla yogurt and my favorite gluten free Kind Granola, and headed straight back to bed. I also craaaaved some almond butter so I ate a little packet of my obsession Justin’s Maple Almond Butter before passing out for a few hours.
- After heading to the doctor, I bought some juices at Kroger while I waited on my prescriptions. One was called “Complete Recovery” which had strawberries, apples, oranges, bananas, echinacea, and bee pollen in it, but it also had wayyy too much sugar (~40 grams in the whole bottle!! EEK!) I hate to eat a lot of sugar (even if it isn’t added sugar) so instead, I took half of that juice and mixed it with a straight veggie juice I also bought called “pH Solution”. This juice had just filtered water, kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, and lemon in it (and pretty much ZERO sugar…only 40 calories in the whole bottle). So adding the two together made a nice fruit AND veggie juice that was much lower in calories and sugar :). I only had half of each so I’ll probably finish the rest tomorrow. Also, I ate a Cinnamon Roll Quest bar after stocking up on them at the store (BEST DAY EVER). I wasn’t too hungry today being sick, so this was fine to hold me over until dinner.
- I went back to work for a few hours this afternoon and got home around 6 feeling pretty hungry. Since I plan to rest tonight and probably go to bed early, I ate a simple dinner before hittin’ the couch and straight CHILLIN. I knew I wanted something fresh and healthy, which is always important when you are sick. So, I made a quick salad with mixed greens, carrots, tomatoes, celery, broccoli, omega-3 blend, avocado slices, and champagne shallot vinaigrette. It was delicious and filling. Afterwards, I craved some warm, fatty comfort food so I had two slices of my favorite whole grain gluten free bread toasted with butter on top. 🙂 That’s the good stuff!! Now onto morphing onto my couch and passing out early to get better for THE WEEKEND!!! (We’re almost there guys!)
Have a wonderful night everyone 🙂 Hope you guys had a great day of healthy food as well!
