Is it Christmas yet?!?
Counting down the days until my much needed vacation to MEXICO!!
I fly out after work on Christmas Eve to Cancun to meet up with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate Christmas and spend a few days in the hot Mexican sun. Work has been crazy lately so I’m PUMPED (understatement) for a break and some quality time with my man. Nothing better than people you love and a nice cold adult beverage on the beach in Mexico….how many days left?!?!
Lately, since I haven’t been able to work out too much due to
exhaustion time constraints, I’ve been making sure I watch what I eat so I will feel my best in my bikini come beach time! Yesterday was another typical day at work so I fueled up with some healthy eats all day long. (sorry for the low qualities photos, taking pictures during the work day is tough with just my phone!)
WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY.
- grabbed a coffee with sugar free vanilla and some steamed skim milk on the way to work. Then enjoyed some apple cinnamon flax oatmeal with sliced banana, almonds, a shit load of cinnamon, and pumpkin seeds. Perfection on a busy (and cold) morning!
- Also, when I had like 10 minutes to spare I watched a few minutes of
girls’ favorite show of the yearthe Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The wings were stunning and the models’ bodies were amazing as always. Can we just talk about how perfect and glowing Candice Swanoepel is?!?! Life is just so hard for us mortals…def makes me want to kick ass in the gym tonight!
the only remotely meal-like food I had in my fridge was some leftover Winter Detox Veggie Soup, so I decided to bring it to work for a quick and healthy lunch. I made a huge batch of this soup about a month ago and froze some of it, so I had some left in the freezer that I thawed in the fridge and it still tasted just as good as fresh! Def needed some veggies today so this was the perfect way to get in a bunch in an actually delicious-tasting way.
on the drive home from work, I snacked on my most favorite thing in the ENTIRE world (besides like, the essential things in life): a Cinnamon Roll Quest Bar). Yeah, yeah, if you’ve read any of my blog posts before you probably have seen my obsession with them. Anyways, this one tastes like freakin cinnamon butter to me and its super healthy, so you can indulge without feeling guilty! Literally the best snack in the world. I recently bought 3 whole boxes from GNC online (told ya im obsessed) because of such great Black Friday deals. Sooo, now the goal is just to not eat them all up at once and make em last!
After work, I headed to my boyfriends place to spend time with him and some other friends, so I really wasn’t too hungry for dinner and just ate some yogurt and granola. This is my FAVORITE brand of yogurt (having fat in yogurt is actually good for you! I’d rather eat yogurt with some fat rather than fat-free varieties that add other crap in to make it taste good without the fat ) The granola I had was also a new kind that I’ve recently fell in love with. You can find it at Kroger, the Fresh Market, and Target specifically here in Georgia. Check out the granola here. This brand is full of natural, wholesome ingredients and whole grains that are gluten free. This Pumpkin Fig flavor is the absolute best!
Once I got back to my apartment, I snacked on a few unpitted dates (the best dessert and fiber-rich snack if you crave sugar) before hitting the sheets HARD. It was a busy and exhausting day, but I got in some good eats! Tonight I’ll definitely be cooking myself a fresh and wholesome dinner since I didn’t have a big one last night.
Another day in the life of a nutritionist’s eating habits! It was definitely a busy day, so I didn’t have my usual home cooked meals but at least I ate healthy on the go!
Happy Thursday, only 1 more day until the weekend! We can do it!!
