THESE ARE AMAZING! Taste just like a real caramel truffle. Cannot tell it was made with dates and cashew butter! The sea salt on top really makes it. I agree that they are best kept in the freezer and eaten straight out of the freezer!

These came out absolutely delicious! I had to improvise a few ingredients due to the Coronavirus and lack of availability (I used whole wheat flour, potato starch, and almond butter) and it’s still my new favorite dessert! All about recipes that can handle substitutions during this time. Glad to have found a recipe with better ingredients that is still so satisfying and indulgent!

Hi there! Nutritional yeast comes from a single organism and harvested; they look like little yellow flakes. It’s different from brewer’s yeast. It is used a lot by vegetarians and vegans because it is a huge source of B12 vitamins in addition to being a complete protein (which are both found in most animal foods, so these diets need both!) and it contains no whey (milk), therefore it is vegan. It also gives off a cheese-like taste so it is great added to salads, eggs, stir fries, etc. If you are not vegan, just try adding cheese instead! I just like the extra B vitamins and protein (since I don’t eat a lot of meat) and it adds a nice flavor with extra vitamins and barely any calories! Real cheese would be even better tasting though 🙂
